I am Dr Mohd Ali Samsudin, from School of Educational Studies, University Science Malaysia. For your information, I am a team leader for a community project entitle ‘Sustaining Rural Asian Students’ Interest towards Science Through Mobile Science Lab’. We try to nurture, develop and sustain those students’ interest towards science by providing them with exciting and fun science learning experiences through interactive hands on activities. However, we feel that students in rural area are belonged to disadvantage category. Thus, there is a low possibility for them to have those kind of learning experience since those activities are only can be found in science centre at the cities. Thus, we are proposing a mobile science centre which is functioning as a portable science centre which is targeted to visit rural area in Malaysia. For the first phase, we will visit Kota Kuala Muda, Kedah where most of the population are farmers and fisherman. We have already got all the materials for the science activity. But we don’t have an appropriate transport to bring the materials and to be function as a mobile science lab.
